Operational and Strategic Developments

Ramping productivity and throughput

• Commissioned India’s first diesel-electric loader, 17 tonne capacity CAT-R2900XE
• Completed new Maa Annapurna Portal for a larger cross-section decline and started decline development from underground and surface, enabling the introduction of higher capacity fleet like 65 MT low-profile dump trucks (LPDTs) and 21 MT load-haul-dump (LHD) vehicles
• Implemented top-down mining method with paste fill, unlocking high-grade blocks in Main and East Lodes
• Completed paste fill reticulation in the newly commissioned E4 block of East Lode

Technology and digital integration

• Installed 28 Machine Max sensors for LPDTs and LHDs idle hour tracking and an Infinite Uptime sensor on the cage and skip winder for real-time data monitoring
• Installed internet of things (IoT) sensors for 11 critical equipment items for 24/7 monitoring across the rod mill, ball mill, blowers, ventilation fan, and the filter feed tank agitator in the paste fill plant

Safety and environmental developments

• Generated the highest-ever filtered tailings of 1.59 Mnt
• Commissioned the following:
  • Tele-remote SIMBA drilling machines, enabling smoke hour drilling
  • Dust extraction (DE) system at the secondary crusher to improve air quality
  • 1 MVA dry-type transformer with an automatic fire detection and suppression system for main shaft winders
  • High-capacity pumps at 11 mRL with remote operation from surface, enabling unmanned pumping operation
• Integrated a 360° AI-based motion detection camera into the MT42 LPDT to prevent man-machine interaction risks
• Established an underground occupational health centre at -157 mRL and a rest shelter at 300 mRL
• Installed motion sensor at 100 mRL grizzly for traffic control system and launched radio frequency identification (RFID) based collision awareness system
